Well we have lived with the iJoomla Magazine component for some time and enjoyed all the nice and unique features it has. Earlier this year came a couple of new extensions - News Portal, Sidebars and Surveys. Well this should really be enough extensions to keep most Joomla users happy. But apparently iJoomla got some new stuff cooking..

Well not in prison really (got you scared though..didn't I?), but in one of the best template clubs out there! That's right Web Revolution is introducing their life membership yet again, and that is one of the best deals out there - period! I got the life time membership some time ago and as a developer this membership can't really be beaten.

Well we all love JomComment and MyBlog from Azrul or at least a lot of us does.. So you might already know that both extensions got updated recently. Most important are a few security bug fixes, but also a few other updates. MyBlog now got the long waited "Read More" function, something that was not present from the beginning - great one!

Oh and in case you don't know anything about JomComment and MyBlog, you should check out Azrul's site as those two extensions are an inexpensive way to enhance your site by miles. 

JoomlArt recently released a new Joomla template called "Teline". This new template is a news oriented portal template, build around a lovely grid and with a lot of functions to give it a real newspaper look. Colours are kept as a minimum - content is king!

So what is so special about this new template, I mean all templates can be used as news templates - right? Well for starters Teline comes with some new and rather unique extensions. The most valuable is in my opinion the new news component, that takes content from various catagories and makes "teasers" out of them and present those in a nice way on the frontpage.

If you have been around Joomla for some time you will know that Phil Taylor is one of the top dogs when it comes to commercial Joomla extensions. He has made some of the most used ones like "Phil-A-Form", "Tags" and much more.

Beign commercial extensions all might not have the chance to try 'em out, but apparently they are on sale right now, so there is a great chance to try one or two out. Some of the components will be updated soon, but you get a free update when they are released - so it is really a good idea to buy know, as I don't think the new build from scratch versions will stay at those low prices... 

I mean it.. I simply can't take this anymore. All these template owners must be on some sort of medication. How is it possible to raise the bar of creative work in only a month? I don't get it.. I am going insane as we speak.

Well it's a new month, 1st. of April so while we wait for all the April Fools jokes on the net, RocketTheme provides us with some new über l33t template madness for our Joomla installs. Color Matic is the new name and again it blows the competition away. I mentioned last months template from JoomlArt as being some sort of milestone, I am sorry to say but while they work on version 2 of that one, Color Matic sets a new standard... But let's take a look at some of the core features.

Well there are only a couple of days left before RocketTheme launch their April month template. As always info about the new templates are not present, but it seems that Andy has been forced from the hungry crowd and some details have been stated...

ok, here's a simple description: simple/clean web 2.0 style with 15, count em, 15 color styles. Also tonnes of module positions. I think there are 16 or 17 possible positions.

Not a lot of info, but it sounds interesting.. I hope some of the stuff from the first Web 2.0 template "Elixer" is present but that the design has been made even more clean and simple - I miss that from RocketTheme.

Oh well a day or two more and we will see what they got for us. Come to think of it, it's 1st. of April - so watch out it might be a fake one....!

Yes you heard me right - Thank God I'm not a template club owner! EVERY month you have to make a new template, with new features, new design and colours. We the customers demand that - we want it to be Christmas EVERY month. Long gone are the days where it would be enough just to pull out some good looking colours and we would be happy.. Last months template should look outdated when the new one comes...

February is almost over and looking in my news section made me realize that I haven't really mentioned a lot about all the new stuff that came out for Joomla this month. As the title says it has really been a lovely month. The big template clubs released some of the best templates ever. Templates with modern looks and awesome functions that should be able to keep even the most picky Joomla guy busy... But also some of the great companies that keeps Joomla modern in terms of functionality have been busy and there are a lot of great components ready out there. Components that really enhance any persons site. So lets dig in and see what got released lately.
