Well it's a new month, 1st. of April so while we wait for all the April Fools jokes on the net, RocketTheme provides us with some new über l33t template madness for our Joomla installs. Color Matic is the new name and again it blows the competition away. I mentioned last months template from JoomlArt as being some sort of milestone, I am sorry to say but while they work on version 2 of that one, Color Matic sets a new standard... But let's take a look at some of the core features. As the name tells, this new template is focused on colour versions. The template got 15 versions in total. 11 light ones and 4 dark ones. Making 15 different versions is not easy and you would think that one or two would be bad looking, but RocketTheme made them all look good. The colours are both bold but also settle - there is really something for everyone. The template also got a nice little control panel. This is not really new, but I like the one used here, as it makes a nice bounce when you open it. All sorts of content can be added here as it works as normal module position. Oh and talking about module positions.. Color Matic got 16.. there should be plenty for your content. I have seen a lot of so-called Web 2.0 templates over the past couple of months and often simplicity is the key, but it's just not enough with a right column for modules, so I am happy RocketTheme kept some options. All the extras are there as well. Many build-in typographic modes, awesome gallery, custom log-in etc.. And they all seem to be build for this template. No stupid "let's just add this.." but well thought functions for the modern website. But go visit RocketTheme and check out the demo, no text or image can justify this great template. Comments (2)

What do you expect from Andy? Every night he goes into his meditation box and prays to his statue Rocket Ship. Color Matics is just great. I could immediately see what I would use it for. As you said, it is web 2.0 but it conceals a complexity that makes it web 2.1 The next step will be 3 dimensional cubes ![]() |
Yeah 2.1 that must be it ![]() |
